Our story

Where every cup tells a story.

Brush & Lever is a family business, founded by Ruhul Choudory and Fateha Choudory with a simple belief: that great coffee and great art belong in the same room. Nestled on Princelet Street in Spitalfields — one of London's most creative and historically rich neighbourhoods — they set out to build something more than a coffee shop.

At the heart of Brush & Lever is a deep love of speciality coffee. We source beans from distinct growing regions around the world and offer them across a range of brewing styles — from espresso-based drinks and flat whites to pourovers and aeropress — so that every cup reflects the character of where it came from and how it was made.

Craftsmanship and quality guide everything we do, whether that's the precision behind a perfectly pulled shot or the care we take in choosing which artists exhibit on our walls. Our rotating exhibitions bring emerging and established local artists directly to you, and our events — from latte art workshops to jazz evenings — are designed to bring people together.

Building a creative community, one cup at a time.
